Stoke, Arse, Appendicitis

Another late show in the League Cup as Parker pops up a few minutes from the end of normal time to nick an equaliser. Extra time saw us score twice more to go through. Man Ure at the Boleyn next – should be quite straightforward 🙂  We were poor for most of the match, but the introduction of Noble and Obinna in the second half changed the game for us. Evening was spoilt a bit by the know-nothing numpties sat around me, who were clearly quite clueless about what was going on and were not embarrassed to regularly voice their ignorance.

Disappointed in the end not to take something from the Library as a late Arse goal saw them take all the points. We fought a good rearguard action for most of the match, with Parker and particularly Noble outstanding in centre-mid, and Green pulling off some fine saves. Away fans were in top form, easily outsinging the home “support” throughout the game, as we usually do there.

Noble has been in very good form this season, so it’s a right bloody pain that he now goes down with appendicitis and will miss 4 weeks. He will be missed, more so in that we have a few games coming up that we have a good chance of collecting some very valuable points.
